Server Description: The Dandelion Hub Instant Messenger (DHub IM) is a social network to connect activists interested in actions registered in the Dandelion Hub Database (https://dhub.global). The DHub IM is based on the open-source, open-federated instant messenger software Prosody, which uses the eXtensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP) technology (think: “open-source WhatsApp”). XMPP technology has many similar basic concepts as Internet Relay Chat (IRC) technology, but improved user design and security features (“IRC on steroids!”). While one can use multiple clients to connect with this service, the MOVIM web client is recommended because it can easily be used in the browser.
